Bike Rack Needed to Carry 2 e-bikes with a 1-1/4 inch Trailer Hitch
Question:
I am looking for a rack for 2 ebikes that fits in a 1 1/4 hitch. My friend suggested the Hollywood but it seemed to come in 2 model. Any suggestion?

You are correct that the Hollywood Racks Sport Rider SE # HLY84FR will only fit 2 inch hitch receivers. For your 1-1/4 inch hitch receiver the only option, which is actually the best option, for you is the Thule EasyFold XT # TH903202 which is compatible with Class II and Class III 1-1/4 inch and 2 inch hitch receivers.
The EasyFold XT is a one of the best bike racks that we have to offer and it is specially designed to accommodate ebikes. It can carry up to 2 bikes that weigh 65 lbs each and has clamps with Road Dampening Technology (RDT) to hold and protect bike frames up to 3-1/8 inches in diameter. The clamps are very versatile and are compatible with any bike frame out there.
The rack can fold up for easy storage but also has a tilting feature that can be utilized to gain access to your rear cargo area even with the bikes loaded! Rack and bike locks are also a nice feature that deter theft of your equipment. The best part about this bike rack is that it comes with a storable, folding ramp that makes loading and unloading your heavy ebikes a breeze.
The main thing that you will want to check is the Class rating of your hitch and the Tongue Weight (TW) capacity of your vehicle and your trailer hitch. The EasyFold XT weighs in at a mere 45 lbs so if you were to max out the bike weight capacity with two 65-lb bikes that would mean your vehicle and trailer hitch would need to have a TW capacity of at least 170 lbs. Keep in mind that your max TW capacity will be determined by your lowest rated component.
