Installing 7-Way Wiring and a Brake Controller on a 9100 International to Haul a 5th Wheel Trailer
Question:
What wiring do I need to tow my 5th wheel with my 9100 international

The typical wiring configuration for a tow vehicle 7-Way is as follows:
1 o'clock - Black - 12V Power
3 o'clock - Brown - Right Turn/Stop
5 o'clock - Blue - Brake Controller Output
7 o'clock - White - Ground
9 o'clock - Red - Left Turn/Stop
11 o'clock - Green - Tail/Running Lights
Center - Yellow - Reverse Lights
I have attached a picture to demonstrate this. You will want to make sure that your 5th wheel trailer wiring is setup like this prior to installing a 7-Way. You can do that by using a 12V battery and, after grounding the negative terminal, applying power from the positive terminal to each pin on the trailer 7-Way to see what function it controls.
To add a 7-Way to your 9100 International I recommend using the Universal Installation Kit # ETBC7. You will simply need to cut the 4-Way flat connector off of it and then splice the appropriate functions to each wire. This will also require you to run a hot lead to the battery and then a lead into your cab for a brake controller. If your International already has wiring run for those functions then you can simply use the Adapter # 37185.
You will also need a brake controller to activate the brakes on your 5th wheel trailer. I highly recommend the Tekonsha Prodigy P3 # 90195 as it is easy to setup and use. It has also received many excellent reviews from our customers. You want to connect the follow wire colors from the pigtail to the following functions:
Blue - Brake Controller Output to 7-Way
Black - 12V Power from Battery
White - Ground
Red - COLD Side of Stop Light Switch (only gets hot when brake pedal is pressed)
If you do not already have a circuit tester to help you find the COLD side of the Stop Light Switch, then you can use part # PTW2992 to assist you.
I have attached some articles and a sample installation video that you can reference for the install.
