I just watched your video Rhino Rack Roof Rack Review - 2016 Mazda CX-5 With the -Rhino-Rack 2500 Series Legs for Vortex Aero Crossbars - Naked Roofs or Fixed Mounting Points -Rhino-Rack Vortex Aero Crossbars - Aluminum - Black - 46inch Long - Qty 2 -Custom DK Fit Kit for Rhino-Rack 2500 Series Roof Rack Legs Fixed Mounting Points It seems that on my Mazda CX-5 2016, there will be a bar spread of 43 inches from the front bar to the rear. Is this correct? Will the large rhino rack that has a maximum spread of 43 inches interfere with the rear hatch from opening? Thanks

You are correct. Since the Rhino Rack kit will be installing onto the fixed points of your roof, you'll always have the 43 inch crossbar spread.

This kit consists of:

46 inch Vortex Aero Crossbars, Black, part # RRVA118B-2
2500 Series Legs, part # RRRLKVA
Custom DK Fit Kit, part # DK289

The good thing about the Rhino Rack Cargo Basket, part # RMCB02 is that the tracks are on a slide, so you can adjust forward and backwards to correctly fit your vehicle. When you're at the maximum, you'll have about 7 inches to the outside from each mount, giving you a total mounted length towards the back of 50 inches.

Since you're concerned about the fit to your vehicle, you can confirm the fit at home easily. Simply measure the distance from the center of your fixed points to the nearest point of the hatch when opened. If this measurement is more than 50 inches, this basket will fit correctly with no adjustment needed.

If this distance is too far, you could opt instead for a roof rack kit that mounts with clamps rather than to the fixed points. I recommend the Yakima CoreBar Kit, which has a 32 inch crossbar spread, and consists of the following:

CoreBar Crossbars, part # Y00422
BaseLine Towers, part # Y28TR
Base Clip Kit, part # Y06130
Base Clip Kit, part # Y06132

You will need one of both base clip kits, as one is intended for the front of the vehicle and one is intended for the rear of the vehicle.

This kit will allow you to take advantage of the roof rack's adjustable mounting points and slide the basket forward or backwards before mounting to best fit your vehicle.

For the Rhino-Rack cargo basket #RMCB02, the internal length is 53 inches. The width is 37-7/16 inches at the narrowest point. And the height is just under 5 inches. I have included a link to a video review of this basket for you.
