5th Wheel Trailer Hitch and Custom Installation Kit for a 2013 Ram 1500 with 5-1/2 Foot Bed
Question:
2013 ram quad cab with 60 inch bed will this work okay

Expert Reply:
Due to the extremely short bed length on your 2013 Ram 1500 with 5-1/2 foot bed a regular slider hitch will not have enough travel to safely make tight turns without the trailer hitting the truck cab. What I recommend is to use Demco HiJacker # DM8550040.
What makes this HiJacker different is that it can travel up to 22-1/2 inches which is 8-1/2 inches further than the regular HiJacker. The hitch is limited to 13,000 pounds gross trailer weight. The only other option would be to use a fixed hitch and a Sidewinder pin box on the trailer (if there is a Sidewinder that fits). Going with the 13K Demco HiJacker will cost less since you just need to buy a hitch and not a hitch and a pin box.
If you do not already have an installation kit you can use any kit that accepts hitches for above the bed rails such as Reese custom installation kit # RP50142-58. I have linked some helpful videos below.
