Mountain Bike Fork Mount Rack for a Thule X-Sporter

Question:

I have an xsporter that is fairly loaded up with a rooftop tent (RTT) and and awning one one side. Id like to utilize the remaining ~6 inches on one side for an unobtrusive mount for a bike that doesnt get in the way of accessing the RTT. I dont want a channel type rack that spans the thule bars. Is there a fork mount type attachment for the front of a mountain bike with a rear wheel strap type mount that would hold a bike as long as the bars are spaced correctly?

I have a solution for you, but because of the size of the X-Sporter bars, your options on bike racks are limited that are not channel mounts.

The best option for you is to use the SeaSucker Talon rack, part # 298-BT1004. This rack mounts to any solid, nonporous roof surface with strong vacuum cups, letting you mount the rack easily to whatever position you want. In your case, this can be the cab of the truck or on the top of the RTT. I've included a few videos of this series of racks in action so you can get a better idea of how strong they are.

This rack fits 9mm forks out of the box, but has adapters available for the following sizes:

15-mm, part # 298-BA0010
20-mm, part # 298-BA1348

You may also want to get a Hogg Wheel Carrier, part # 298-BA1580, which will let you carry the bike in line with the rear wheel.

Given the structure of the rack, I strongly recommend a 10 foot Cable Lock, part # e98891 to add security to your bike.
