Weight Distribution Recommendation for Trailer with 811 lbs Tongue Weight Dry
Question:
We were looking at the Curt MV Weight Distribution System w/ Friction Sway Control - Round Bar - 14K GTW, 1.4K TW Item # C17063 to tow our 32ft trailer: Dry Weight: 5850 Payload Capacity: 3086 GVWR: 8063 Hitch Weight 811 We have a 2010 F150 FX4 5.4v8, 6 speed that tows 11,300 lbs according to the manual. We will be towing this year 2000 miles. We know nothing about tow bars. Is this a good fit to distribute the weight across the rear axel of the truck and trailer. Is this a good option? Is it easy for a novice to install and use?

The Curt WD system part # C17063 would be rated a bit too high for your setup that has a dry tongue weight of 811 lbs. It would give you a pretty rough ride quality.
Best solution would be the Reese kit part # RP66155 that has a tongue weight range of 600-1,200 lbs which would be perfect for your trailer. It also has friction sway control.
For a 2 inch ball you would want part # A-90 and for a 2-5/16 inch ball # 19286.
