Adapter From 4-Way Vehicle Side to 7-Way Trailer Side Connection
Question:
I bought this connector as my car has the 4 flat connector and the boat trailer has the 7 pole round connector. The trailer does not have back up lights so the additional wires I assume dont need to be conrrected to anything. My question is, do you have an adapter where I dont have to drill into the trailer for the ground? I havent been able to find one to connect to the trailer and then into the 4 flat on the car.

The Tow Ready Adapter 4 Pole to 7 Pole Vehicle End Trailer Connector # 30717 will connect to the vehicle side so the ground wire will need to be connected to your vehicle not the trailer. That ground wire is required for proper function of your adapter. The other wires if not used can be taped up and stored out of the way. I recommend using the mounting bracket # 18138 and the no drill # 18140 to secure this adapter.
Since the trailer has a 7-way connection, it is very possible that it has brakes and may need the reverse function connected to the yellow wire for a reverse lockout on a surge brake actuating coupler.
If you have the 7-Pole Round pin and need the adapter to the 7-way Blade, I recommend the Custer Trailer Connector Adapter w/ Dust Cover - 7-Pole Round Pin to 7-Way Blade # F77R.
