Parts Needed to Convert Vehicle 4-Way to 7-Way for Camper Trailer
Question:
I recently purchased a 1996 Coleman Yukon Series Pop-up. In preparation of the pick up, bought sight-unseen, I needed to purchase a trailer wiring kit to be able to tow it home safely with working lights. After watching some videos and getting great advice from your site I purchased this moduke for my 2009 VW Tiguan, Tekonsha 119191 ModuLite HD Protector Trailer Light Power Module. My problem is now after paying for the camper and looking at the wiring, it has the 7 pin round connector, I assumed it would be the standard 4 flat but am wrong. What adapter would you recommend purchasing to connect the two? Just to clarify, vehicle connection is 4 flat, camper connection is 7 pin round. Thanks in advance.

Now if your trailer does not have brakes all you would need is the part # 37185 as an adapter to convert the 4-way to a 7-way.
If you do have trailer brakes you would need the # ETBC7 instead of the # 37185 and a brake controller. This kit comes with everything needed to wire up the 7-way and install a brake controller.
For a brake controller I would recommend the Prodigy P2 Brake Controller part # 90885. This is our best selling brake controller because of how well it works and how easy it is to setup.
