Curt Class V Trailer Hitch for a 2005 Chevy Silverado 1500HD
Question:
will the Curt C15302 fit my 1500HD truck? It has the 3/4 ton frame and rims so i think the hitch for the 2500 should fit rather than the one for the standard 1500 chevy but im not sure. Thank you for any help on this.

I did some checking and there is a Curt Class V hitch that fits your 2005 Chevy Silverado 1500HD but it is not # C15302. Instead you can use # C15323. Curt does confirm this fits the 1500HD models (as well as 2500LD models). I have linked a video showing an example installation of this hitch for you.
The recommended ball mount for this hitch is Curt Heavy Duty Forged Ball Mount for 2" Hitches - 3" Rise - 4" Drop - 17,000 lbs Item # C45341. But if it does not have the right rise or drop to tow the trailer level use the link I have included that explains how to measure to choose a ball mount to tow the trailer level.
If your truck does not have a trailer connector you can add one using # PK11898 if the tow package wiring above the spare tire is a bundle of wires. Or you can use # 30955 if the tow package wiring has a round plug instead of a wire bundle.
