Comparing Curt Trailer Hitches # 13332 and # 13322 for a 2006 Chevy Silverado

Question:

Looking at the 2 above Curt class III hitches for my 2006 Chevy Silverado. The 13332 sq tube doesnt show an installed pic or inst video. does the sq tube fit behind the spare and between bumper or below? i notice the 13322 rd tube seems to follow the contour of the spare. Also any major diff between the brands drawtite, hidden hitch, curt or is it mostly just personal preference like a chev or ford? Any insight would be helpful. Thanks.

When CURT Trailer Hitch, # 13332, is installed on a 2006 Chevy Silverado, the square tubing will be behind the spare tire (towards the rear of the vehicle). It will fit much like the round tube # 13322 except that more of the cross tubing will be visible, because it goes straight across the back of the vehicle rather than curving around the spare tire.

There are some differences between the Curt Hitches and the Hidden Hitch, Draw-Tite, and Reese hitches on lower class models, but in the realm of class III and above hitches, they are very similar. All of the hitches meet or exceed the towing standards set by the SAE and other governing bodies. All four of these manufacturers are industry leaders and I think you will be pleased with any of them.

It really comes down to aesthetics between the two CURT hitches. The round tube is less visible, but the square tube is considered stronger. Both have a capacity of 600 pounds tongue weight and 6000 pounds gross trailer weight. Both hitches can be used with weight distribution.
