What are Replacement Parts for the Yakima Roc2 Hitch-Mount Bike Rack With a 1-1/4 Inch Shank?
Question:
I bought a used Yakima ROC 2 hitch-mount bike rack, and am using the 1.25inch shank. The rack did not come with an anti-rattle bolt or , only with a pin something like a PC2. The shank is hollow, and does not seem to have a welded nut not a nut holder for an anti-rattle bolt to be used in lieu of the pin - so just a plain vanilla hollow 1.25inch square pipe I did not measure the inside dimensions. I have not tried the rack yet, but I assume with the typical tolerances between the hitch and the rack there will be some play. Would a Curt anti-rattle kit # F-315 fit in there? I assume the only critical measurement is the height of the vs the inside dimension of the shank everything else width of the receiver/length of the bolt, hole diameter/bolt diameter is standard for a 1.25inch hitch.

Expert Reply:
The Curt Anti-Rattle Kit, part # F-315 will fit inside the shank if the anti-rattle nut has been taken out. If it hasn't, you'll need a bolt replacement like part # Y8880129, which will also add anti-rattle capabilities by locking the threaded bolt inside the shank to the side of the receiver.
