We can help you get your 2006 Honda Pilot set for towing, with a hitch, wiring and trailer brake controller.

For a brake controller I recommend the Prodigy P2 # 90885 that you referenced. This unit sets the benchmark for reliability and ease of operation, including some features that make set-up and ongoing use a lot easier. You will wire this in the Pilot using our brake controller install kit # ETBC7, which includes all the wire, 7-way socket and other components needed to install the P2. The only other item needed for wiring is a 4-pole harness # 118336 which serves as the foundation for your wiring setup. An install video for a Pilot is linked for reference.

For a hitch I suggest the Draw-Tite 2-inch Class III hitch # 75599. This offers the same capacity as the other option but costs a bit less. All required mounting hardware comes with the hitch and you can see the install process in the linked video.

I also suggest the Ball Mount Kit # 989900 which gives you two sizes of hitch ball, two ball mounts with different rise and drop dimensions and a hitch pin and clip, all in a handy storage bag. You might also consider towing mirrors like # KS3891 from K-Source which offer universal fit on most cars at a reasonable price.

You can also refer to the linked articles for additional background on brake controllers, the parts needed to tow and guidance for safe towing with your Pilot.
