Can I Upgrade the 1200 Pound Jack on My Ranger Boat Trailer?

Question:

I have a Ranger Trailer with a side wind swivel jack with an approximate lift of 10 inches that I believe is rated for 1,200 pounds. It mounts a welded bracket on the trailer frame and is held in place by a snap ring. Is there a 1,500 pound version of this jack? How can I determine the actual product number of the Jack that I currently have?

From your description, it sounds like you currently have Fulton's 1200 lb. marine jack, part # F1411300301 . Fulton does not make snap-ring jack with a higher capacity. However, Bulldog offers a Round, Snap-Ring Swivel Jack, part # BD151101, that has the 10" lift you need and has a 2,000 lb capacity. It is also offered in a Zinc finish, which is part # BD151109.

You would also need to purchase a footplate, part # BD018564, which is rated for 2000 lb., or a wheel, part # BD500245, which is rated at 1200 lb.

The only way to be 100% sure which jack model you have is to contact Ranger directly with your trailer's identification number. They should be able to look up the specs on your trailer and give you the OEM model number. If you obtain that information, I would be happy to seek out other options.
