Recommended Hitch Receiver Compatible with 2016 and 2017 Toyota Sienna
Question:
I was curious if the hitch for 2016 toyota sienna will work on a 2017 toyota sienna? I currently own a 2016 thinking about trading for 2017 and before purchasing this want to make sure hitch will work on either?

We offer several options that fit both the 2016 and 2017 Toyota Sienna. You have the choice between a Class II hitch and a Class III hitch for these vehicles. Class III hitches have a greater weight capacity and can tow a wider variety of vehicles. If you plan on towing heavier loads at any point, I recommend going with a Class III hitch. I've attached a helpful article on trailer hitch classes for you to check out. Please note that your towing capabilities will still be limited by the tow capacity of your vehicle. Both the 2016 and 2017 Toyota Sienna online owner's manuals state that the gross trailer weight towed by the vehicle must never exceed 3,500 lbs.
For a Class II hitch, I recommend the Draw-Tite Trailer Hitch Receiver - Custom Fit - Class II – 1-1/4", Item # 36513. This fully welded, corrosion-resistant hitch receiver has a stylish round-tube design, an e-coat base and black powder coat for superior rust protection, and a lifetime warranty. This hitch has a maximum gross trailer weight rating of 3,500 lbs. The drawbar, pin, and clip for this hitch are sold separately, Item # 36051.
If you'll be towing heavier loads, Draw-Tite also makes a Class III option, Item # 75237, which has a gross trailer weight rating of 4,500 lbs. The ball mount, pin, and clip for this hitch are sold separately, Item # EBMK4. I have attached an article on choosing a ball mount for your convenience. You'll want to verify the rise/drop needed before selecting a ball mount.
For a wiring harness with a 4-pole flat trailer connector, I recommend either Item # 118498, which is compatible with Sienna SE models, or Item # 118648, which is compatible with non-SE models. These harnesses are compatible with both the 2016 and 2017 vehicles.
If you are planning on transferring the hitch from the 2016 to the 2017 vehicle, you might also consider using the Replacement Hardware Kit for Trailer Hitches, Item # RHK.
I've included an installation video for both hitches for your convenience.
