Weight Distribution System Recommendation for Tongue Weight of 170 lbs Tongue Weight
Question:
Can the Reese weight distribution system 66557 be used with the Curt C13149 hitch receiver? I would be pulling a small trailer with about a 170 lb. tongue weight and a 1700 lb. trailer weight.

The Curt hitch part # C13149 that you referenced is rated for use with weight distribution systems. That means you could use the Reese Steadi Flex weight distribution system part # 66557 with it and it would work well.
Since you have a tongue weight of 170 lb this system would be rated too high since it has a range of 250-400 lbs.
Best solution would then be the Equalizer part # EQ37040ET which has a tongue weight range of up to 400 lbs. Many refer to the Equalizer systems as the nicest around so this will work great for you.
