Recommended Flat Tow Setup For 2006 Saturn Vue

Question:

I have a 2006 Saturn Vue V6-FWD that I plan on flat-towing behind my Class C. The Class C is used and came with the BlueOx BX7335 Tow Bar. The Saturn has never been flat towed, that I can tell, so what would I need to purchase to complete the set-up? Thanks

For your Blue Ox Aventa II Tow Bar BX7335 and your 2006 Saturn Vue, I recommend you start with the Blue Ox Base Plate Kit - Removable Arms # BX3335 and Loctite # LT37420. Then you can use Blue Ox Base-Plate and Receiver Lock Kit - Qty 4 # BX88177 to secure it and deter theft. If you don't have the safety cables, I recommend the RoadMaster 68" Single Hook, Coiled Safety Cables # RM-643 as replacements for your system.

For your tow bar wiring, I recommend the Roadmaster Diode 7-Wire to 6-Wire Flexo-Coil Wiring Kit # RM-15267 which will give you a nice connection to your vehicle and allow you to use the factory wiring for a clean look.

For your supplemental braking, I recommend the SMI Stay-IN-Play DUO Supplemental Braking System - Proportional # SM99251. This will apply brakes to your Vue at the same time and with the proportional amount of pressure that you hit the brake pedal in your Class C motorhome. This system needs to be adjusted at installation, but after that it becomes a plug and play system that is extremely reliable.

The last thing you will need is a high-low adapter. I've linked the page to your options and have attached a help article as well so you can get the correct fit.

Fuses must be pulled to flat tow your vehicle. Check your owners manual for instructions.
