Installation Instructions for Reese RP30051 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch with Square Tube Slider
Question:
First trip out with my new Montanna 5th wheel the new reese 16k slider bangs when coming to a stop and more so when taking off. The slider itself is moving back and forth on its rails. Not the bed rail but the slide rail, probably moving a good quarter of an inch. Is there anyway to tighten this movement ? The hitch is brand new but I didn`t get anypaper work with it and the dealer I bought the trailer and hitch from is 2hrs away. Thank you

I spoke with my contact at Reese and he informed me that there is nothing you can adjust on the slider that will allow you to remove that play. He did say to make sure that the pull pins that attach the slider to the rails are in correctly. You will want to make sure that they are facing out of the slider and are not underneath it. Otherwise you can get some strange noises and movement from it. I attached installation instructions for the Reese Square Tube Slider for Fifth Wheel Hitch, part # RP30048, below for you to check out.
I also attached installation instructions for the Reese 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch, part # RP30047, below for you to check out as well as a review video for this product.
