Why Does Brake Controller Show Connection with Circuit Tester but Not with Trailer Connected
Question:
I have a tekonsha voyager on my 1995 f350 and the green light isnt on with or without the trailer hooked up. I got a circuit tester and tested red and black at the back of the controller. All have power. When I tested the blue at the back of the controller, the green light illuminated.

Most likely what's happening is that the connector on the trailer has a bit of corrosion on it and it needs to be cleaned off to allow the pin to make a solid connection and show a trailer being connected.
The green light indicates that a trailer is connected. The controller senses the amperage draw the tester puts on the circuit and that's why the controller shows green when testing that pin.
