Troubleshooting Prodigy P2 Brake Controller on 2002 Mercedes M-Class
Question:
I am trying to install the unit in my 2002 mercedes ml320. I have an OEM 7 pin trailer connector, which has a 7 pin plug-in harness, with 7 wires, that plugs into the trailer connector. While there is a diagram on the connector cover which shows which pin is for the trailer brakes, I cannot tell which wire going into the plug-in harness is the proper one to connect the blue wire from the controller, since the connector end is molded into the trailer connector. I cant see which pin goes to which blade on the male end of the connector. Can you tell me how to locate the proper wire? The wire colors are orange stop lite, pink right turn, red power, brown ground, green left turn, grey backup, and white. Might it be the white one?

I did a bit of digging and hopefully came up with what you were looking for to wire your Prodigy P2 # 90885 into your 2002 Mercedes M-Class. You were definitely on the right track, but the white wire is actually for the tail lamp while the orange wire is for both the stop light and the brake controller. You may want to use a circuit tester such as # PTW2993 to verify the functions.
