Question:

Was wondering which hitch i should use on my 2000 ford chassis coachman rv. I will be pulling a 7x16 v nose enclosed trailer?

Expert Reply:

We offer several different multi-fit receiver hitches designed for motor homes with varying frame member widths.

We offer a Curt Adjustable Width model, part # C13702, that will fit frame members from 18 to 51 inches in width. The maximum towing capacity of the hitch itself is 5,000 lbs, and the tongue weight capacity is 500 lbs. You should check the owners manual or with the RV manufacturer to determine the towing and tongue weight capacity of the vehicle itself, as any towing system is only as strong as its lowest rated component.

The hitch you mentioned fits Ford F350,450 and 550 cab and chassis truck models, and wouldn't work for your RV.
