Best Bike Rack Options For A 2017 Nissan Rogue
Question:
Im considering installing a hitch for primary use for a tray style bike rack for my 2017 Nissan Rogue SV. My concern involves the maximum tongue weight as recommended in the owners manual. The maximum tongue load is listed at 110lbs. Does this mean I have to keep the combined weight of the bikes, rack, and hitch under 110lbs? Any assistance you can offer, and recommendations for product would be greatly appreciated

The weight of the trailer hitch receiver on your 2017 Nissan Rogue will not count towards your tongue weight (TW). Only the weight of your bike rack and bikes will. Therefore, you will need to make sure that weight of your bikes and bike rack do not exceed 110 lbs while on the back of your Rogue.
For a trailer hitch receiver, I recommend the Draw-Tite Max-Frame Trailer Hitch Receiver part # 75902. For a bike rack, I recommend the Swagman XTC-2 2-Bike Platform Rack part # S64670 which is one of the lightest bike racks we carry weighing in at only 31 lbs. As long as your bikes do not exceed the 70 lbs total / 35 lbs per bike capacity of the rack then this setup will work well for you.
I have attached an install video of the hitch and review video of the bike rack for you as well.
