How to Figure Out the Correct Wiring Functions for a 1992 Fleetwood Caribou Truck Camper
Question:
I have a 1992 fleetwood caribou truck camper I just acquired. I am trying to get a plug wired so the lights n everything will work . Previous owners have cut wire in a few places. Plus it looks like they added some of their own. The colors of the wires dont match the pigtail I have. Was hoping for any information on what color is what on the camper side

What you will need to do is use a Circuit Tester # PTW2992 to see what wires perform which functions on your truck and then use a 12V power source like your truck's battery to test the wiring on the camper. You can then wire the correct functions together.
Even though there can be some common themes with wiring (Black for 12V Power, White for Ground), there really is no "rule" as to what colors need to be used for which functions. Using the testing method that I just mentioned will help you identify the various functions even if the previous owners used different color wiring.
It would be a good idea to label the wiring as you go along so that even if you have to replace the pigtail in the future it would be much easier to install a new pigtail.
