Yes, we can help. Installation of the Prodigy Brake Controller on your 2002 Chevy Blazer will require hard wiring. We have an installation kit, item # ETBC7, designed for brake controllers and directions for installation of the kit, see link.

The only wire you will need under the dash is the brake light switch circuit. This wire can be found at the brake light switch behind the brake pedal with a circuit tester, item # 3808 if needed. You will be looking for the wire with a signal only when the brake pedal is pressed. The red wire from the brake controller is attached to this wire.

The rest of the wires from the brake controller are ran through the firewall. Using a length of # 10-2-1 long enough to reach the vehicle battery you will run the black and white wire from the brake controller to the vehicle battery. White will be attached to the negative battery terminal, and black will be attached to the positive battery terminal through an inline circuit breaker. The correct size circuit breaker is a 20 amp for trailers with less than 3 brake axles and a 30 amp circuit breaker for trailers with 3 brake axles or more.

Finally, the blue wire will be attached to the white wire in a length of double bonded 10 gauge wire and the black wire in the double bonded wire will be attached to the positive terminal of the vehicle battery through a 40 amp circuit breaker for 12 volt power at the rear of the vehicle. Once these wires are ran to the rear of the truck they are connected to the proper location inside the trailer connector for brake feed and 12 volt accessory power, see instructions link.

The # ETBC7 installation kit has all of the wiring and circuit breakers needed for brake controller installation, as well as the other items for doing a professional looking installation.

You will need a working 4-way connector for installation of the # ETBC7 kit also. For the 2002 Chevy Blazer, you can use the 4-Pole Hardwire Kit Including Circuit Tester, item # 18252, or cut the 4-way connector off of the connector in the # ETBC7 kit and hard wire those wires to the Stop/Turn and tail light circuits behind the vehicle tail lights.
