Recommended Back Up Alarm For A 2014 Chrysler Town and Country
Question:
My goal is to have a back up alarm that is activated when car is put in reserve BUT that I can also have a switch for driver to turn off and onwhen I dont want to wake up neighbors etc. I am considering the item number BK97DB. Is there another better suited for my needs? Can you also provide item number for the wiring and switch Ill need. Id like to bring the mechanic all the items needed for the install. Note: I am also installing a Draw-Tite hitch receiver with electricall

For your 2014 Chrysler Town And Country, I recommend either the Surface Mount Back-up Alarm - 97 DB # BK97DB you referenced or the Light-Duty to Medium-Duty Back-Up Alarm with Wire Leads - 12-24 Volts - Less than 0.3 Amp - 97 dB # PK41820.
For either alarm, you can use the Pollak Light-Duty Toggle Switch - On-Off - 12 Volt - 10 Amp - 6" Wire Leads # PK34513 and just splice the hot side of the switch into the reverse light wire and then run the cold side to the alarm. You can use the Deka Primary Wire - 16-Gauge - White - per foot # DW02359-1 along with connectors like # DW05744-10.
For your trailer hitch receiver, I recommend the Draw-Tite Max-Frame Trailer Hitch Receiver - Custom Fit - Class III - 2" # 75579. For your trailer wiring, the Curt T-Connector Vehicle Wiring Harness # C56331 which installs behind your tail lights and captures power from your battery to protect your factory wiring from overload.
For a ball mount, I recommend the etrailer ball mount kit # 989900. It comes with 2 ball mounts; one with a 3/4 inch rise or 2 inch drop and one with a 2-3/4 inch rise or 4 inch drop. It also includes a 1-7/8 inch ball, 2 inch ball, hitch pin with clip, and a storage bag.
