Recommendation on How to Carry a SUP Board on a 2017 Nissan Rogue
Question:
Can the Thule Top Deck Rooftop Kayak Carrier System with Tie Downs Item # TH881 also be used to carry a SUP? If not, can this be easily slid out of the way for when I want to carry my SUP instead of my kayak on my Thule square bars?

I have a solution for you. However, the Thule Top Deck Rooftop Kayak Carrier, # TH881, has only been tested with carrying kayaks, and not SUP boards. Therefore, I cannot recommend using this carrier with a SUP.
I recommend the Rhino-Rack SUP and Surfboard Pads w/ Tie-Downs, # RRRWP03 at 21-1/2 inches long or # RRRWP05 at 33-1/2 inches long. The pads come in two different lengths depending on the width of your board.
The Thule carrier can be loosened to move the out of the way. However, in most cases you will have to completely remove the Thule carrier when using these pads. Then the Rhino-Rack pads will wrap around your roof rack square crossbars. The pad will give a soft mounting point on your roof racks when mounting your board.
