Trunk Mounted and Hitch Mounted Bike Rack Recommendations for a 2009 Nissan Quest

Question:

I was wondering what type of bike rack would properly fit a 2009 Nissan Quest? Also, I have noticed some have a weight capacity or 100 lbs or so. I am sure that 2 adult bikes and one 20 inch child bike is over 100lbs...does that mean we should be looking at hitch type mounts instead? Thank you for your help.

Most adult bikes weigh no more that 35 lbs each as long as they are not downhill bikes or beach cruisers, and most child bikes weigh around 20 pounds. This leaves 15 lbs left over with 2 adult bikes and 1 child bike.

A hitch and hitch bike rack is more convenient than a trunk mount style and will ease access to the rear of the vehicle when on riding trips.
