Tire Date Code and Methods to Protect Lifespan of Trailer Tires

How can I be sure that I will get the most recent date code tire from you, after reading your reviews there were some concerns about the codes not being recent .

The vast majority of trailer tires are made overseas. This means that almost any tire you buy will be about 6-months old at minimum. From the date of manufacture the tire will be stored for some period of time, then be loaded into a shipping container. It will then spend about 2 months in transit on the ocean/going through customs and then be stored in a warehousing facility here in the states.

Trailer tires should be changed, regardless of wear or mileage, no less than every six years. In the most popular trailer tire sizes our stock is typically about 6 to 9 months old since we turn that inventory fairly quickly.

A trailer tire's actual longevity depends much less on its starting age than on how it is operated and stored. Tire covers will protect the lifespan of any tire by reducing the damaging effects of UV radiation. A tire that is 2-years old but that has been well-protected during storage periods will probably be in better shape than a 1-year-old tire that has been exposed to the elements.
