Best Anti-Rattle Device For Towing Applications
Question:
I have seen some conflicting information regarding the Quiet Hitch and wanted to clear it up. I read where this is for hitch mount accessories and flat towing only, but can it be used for a trailer? I am towing a kayak trailer 450 lbs. max with my GMC Acadia and the hitch bangs and rattles like crazy. Can I use it for this application?

Yes, the Roadmaster Quiet Hitch part # RM-061 can be used for towing. The Quiet Hitch is designed to secure the shank against the side of the hitch receiver to minimize movement and noise. However, these collars are not always the best option as they may interfere with certain accessories or hitch receivers.
The best option to secure and minimize rattle of the shank in the ball mount while towing a trailer would involve using the Anti-Rattle Trailer Hitch Receiver Lock part # 63232 for hollow shanks.
For an even more secure fitment, you can use either locking hitch pin in combination with the Quiet Hitch. I have attached a video review of each product for you.
