Suspension Enhancement Recommendation for Towing a 5th Wheel Trailer with a 1999 GMC Z71 Sierra

i have a 1999 sierra 3 door extended cab short box z71 and i would like to tow a fifth wheel trailer and was wondering what is best to do to rear suspension to strenghten it, and yet not make it terrible to drive when not towing the fifth wheel trailertruck also has 3 inch body liftthanks

The only option we have at this time for your 1999 Sierra 3 door extended cab short box Z71 with 3 inch lift is the Timbren Vehicle Suspension. You will need the Timbren Rear Suspension Enhancement, item # TGMRCK25S, along with a custom kit to accommodate the 3 inch lift.

To order the custom Timbren kit you will need to call etrailer.com Customer Service department, see link, with the following information at hand:

Year, make, and model of your vehicle
Whether it is 2-wheel or 4-wheel drive
Measurement from the top axle to the bottom of the frame directly above the axle

Once you have given the customer service representative this information, we can order a custom system for your truck.

Suspension enhancement systems will improve the ride of your truck and help keep the load level when towing but will not increase the capacity of the vehicle suspension. The Timbren system will have little effect on ride when no load is placed on the vehicle, except to help with body roll when cornering.
