Hitch for Bike Rack Use on 2016 Subaru Impreza Sedan
Question:
Do you have a 2inch receiver hitch for a 2016 Subaru Impreza 4 door sedan. I need it for my bike rack.

For the 2016 Subaru Impreza there is one 2-inch hitch offered but it fits only the 5-door wagon single-exhaust variant; for your 4-door sedan only 1-1/4-inch light-duty Class I hitches are offered, as shown on the linked page. Hitch makers match the capacity of their hitches to the host vehicle's own capacity; in the case of the Impreza sedan this means a Class I hitch only.
The hitch I suggest is the Draw-Tite # 24960, rated for 200-lbs of tongue weight. This hitch does not have a support strap requirement like Curt model # C11408, which requires you to use strap # 18050 to support the rack weight. The Draw-Tite bolts on with included hardware.
I recommend selecting a new 2-bike Class I bike rack to go with this hitch. Class I hitches require using a Class I rack of no more than 2-bike capacity. You could, strictly speaking, use an adapter # HTAD to allow use of your 2-inch hitch rack, but any such adapter has the unavoidable side-effect of reducing your hitch capacity by half, down to 100-lb tongue weight. Adapters also mean more random motion of what you install in them. For the long-run you're better off with a Class I bike rack that avoids the need for adapters.
The linked page shows you all 2-bike class I racks, including both hanging racks like # C18085 and platform styles like the Chinook # S64683. I will be happy to recommend a rack if you care to tell me a bit about your bikes. You may also care to have a look at the linked article on hitch racks.
