To install the Curt Trailer Hitch, # C11109, to your 2000 Chevy Cavalier, you will need to temporarily lower the exhaust to get the hitch into position but then put it back after the hitch is installed. The only drilling that may be required is to enlarge some existing holes needed for installation. It will also require you to trim the heat shield. I have included a link to the installation details for reference.
If you plan on doing some towing, the recommended ball mount is # C45519 and the pin and clip is # PC2. The ball mount should be used in the rise position only. For a ball, you can use # 19256 (1-7/8 inch diameter) or # 19258 (2 inch diameter). For trailer wiring, you would need 4-Pole Hardwire Kit Including Circuit Tester, # 18252. I have included a link to a video that shows a typical installation of this wiring harness.
