How Does a Crossbar Lock to the Thule Crossroads Feet

How does the cross bar get locked into this item?

Expert Reply:
On the top of each foot on the Crossroads roof rack feet # 753-3399 and Handle Assembly # 753-20064 there is a shroud that goes around the bars. When the roof rack is tightened it will pull this shroud down and hold the bar firmly in place. Take a look at the instructions I have linked.
Locks can be added to the feet using # TH450200 which will prevent the foot end cap from coming off which protects access to the mechanisms that hold the rack to the roof and the bars to the feet.
