Do I need an air tank to go with this air compressor kit in order to be able to fill air springs on my truck?

No, you do not have to have an air tank with a compressor system in order to fill the air bag helper springs on your 2012 Dodge Ram. A system such as # AL25856 would work well for filling the air bags. I have included a link to the compressor options both with and without air tanks.
