Whenever there are lighting issues it is always best to start off by checking your grounds and connections to make sure that are clean and free of debris.

If you are not getting a good signal on your vehicle side connector or if your trailer lights are malfunctioning then I can help you trouble shoot that. If your the running lights on your vehicle are acting up you will need to take it in to a shop to get it looked at as all the information I will be able to provide is that you will need to check your wires and connections.

To troubleshoot the tail lights on your trailer you will want to start off by testing the connector on your vehicle with a Circuit Tester # PTW2992 and testing the connector on your trailer with an alternative 12V power source (different vehicle or your vehicle's battery).

If the connector on your vehicle is getting the proper signal but your trailer lights are still not functioning properly when hooked up to a different 12V system then you will need to check the wiring on your trailer. If it is the other way around, your trailer is lighting up correctly but the connector on your vehicle isn't working properly, then you will want to check the wiring on your vehicle.

Even though it sounds like you have checked the wiring for burns there are a few other things you will want to look for on either your vehicle or your trailer. Look for any spots where the wire is exposed, or bent. You will want to replace that wire with 14 Gauge Wire # DW07550-1 and Butt Connectors # DW05744-5.

If all of the wiring looks good on both your vehicle and your trailer and you have tested it and it worked properly separately then you will want to take your setup to a shop or trailer dealer so they can physically inspect it.

I have attached a helpful article on wiring for you to check out as well.
