Can Adjustment Screw On sway Control Unit Be Over-Tightened
Question:
Is it possible to over tighten the friction sway device?, I tighten it up to a very tight position when on the highway like when the 2 parts at the bolt/tightening arm contact each other, but find it can be very noisycreak/snap noise as slower speeds. Keeping the bar as smooth as possible helps reduce noise, I use a wire wheel if it gets rusty or after a few uses. also loosen it off when town driving and remove when backing up.

You can over-tighten the adjustment screw. Various road conditions dictate how the friction control should be set. Per the instructions it should be tested and you should adjust the screw by 1/4 turns until you reach the desired control.
If you have a large trailer you may want to consider a second sway control unit.
