Recommended 6-Way to 4-Flat Adapter for Towing Trailer Behind Itasca Motorhome
Question:
My Itasca Motorhome has separate brake lights and turn signals and is wired into a six pin round trailer connector. The brake lights appear to be wired to the Sinch pin. I want to connect a trailer with a 4 pin flat connector. I have devised an adapter with 4 diodes to mix the brake and turn signals. Is a commercial adapter available that does the 6 pin to 4 pin adapter as well as the brake/turn-signal mixing?

In order to take the separate brake lights and turn signals from your Itasca Motorhome and convert them to the combined circuits for your trailer, I recommend using the Tekonsha Upgraded Circuit Protected Tail Light Converter # 119178. This will be powered by the battery and will install before the 6-Way trailer connection.
You can then simply use a 6 Pole to 4 Pole adapter like the Pollak # PK12717 to connect with the trailer.
I have included an image that shows the wiring locations on your motorhome's 6-way trailer connector.
