Trailer Hitch, Wiring, and Accessories to Tow a Rental Trailer with a 2009 Volkswagen Jetta Sedan
Question:
Is this hitch compatible with a U-haul trailer?
asked by: James H
Expert Reply:
Yes. the Curt trailer hitch # C11474 can be used to tow a rented U-Haul trailer. To tow a rental trailer, they will require the hitch and a wiring harness installed on your 2009 Volkswagen Jetta Sedan. You will also need a ball mount, # 3594, and a ball. The size of the ball will depend on what the coupler on the trailer requires.
For a 1-7/8 inch ball use # 19256 and for a 2 inch ball use # 19258. For a trailer wiring harness use # 118667 to add a 4-Way flat connector to the rear of the vehicle. This operates the lights on the trailer.
