Hitch, Wiring and Ball Mount for 2015 Mazda CX-5
Question:
Hi - I have a Mazda CX 5 2015. Id like to have a hitch, tongue, wiring, and ball that I could connect a uhaul trailer or bike carrier. I think Im handy enough to attach the hitch and do the wiring - but simple is good. I dont foresee hauling a very heavy trailer or a lot of weight. Some product recommendations would really help me. Thanks

We can help you get set for towing with your 2015 Mazda CX-5.
For a hitch I suggest the 2-inch Class III hitch # 76138 from Draw-Tite. This offers no-drill installation as shown in the linked video and all required mounting hardware is included. For a 4-pole wiring harness for trailer lights you can use kit # 118563 which offers mostly-plug-in installation. A help article and video for this item are linked too.
A popular ball mount for CX-5 owners is part # 2753 which can be used with either 1-7/8-inch hitch ball # 19260 or 2-inch ball # 63845.
For your bikes you have many Class III bike rack options that are shown on the linked page. You can refer to the two linked bike rack articles for help considering which hitch rack type best suits your bikes.
Before towing with your CX-5 be sure to check your owner's manual to confirm your trailer is within the vehicle's towing weight capacity. You can refer to page 3-46 of your manual.
