The LED Trailer License-Plate Light w/ Mounting Bracket, 2 Wire, 5 Diode - Clear # LPL55CB is made of a molded plastic. If you are interested in a metal bracket I recommend the Peterson License Plate Light with Bracket # PM436B which has an incandescent bulb.

You alternatively use the can use the metal mount # LP20SB along with the LED Heavy Duty Trailer License Plate Light, Ear Mount, 5 Diode - Chrome Plated # LPL41CB.

Is this for a front plate you are looking for a light for additional visibility? Or a license plate light for the rear and you want to use like 4-way trailer wiring connection?
