How do you Connect the Curt Trailer Hitch Support Strap to a Platform Style Bike Rack?
Question:
Hi, I'm planning on purchasing a Curt # C11412 Hitch, and I believe a trailer hitch support strap, # 18050, is required for this hitch. However, the bike rack I am considering is the Swagman XC 2-Bike Rack and I am not so sure how I can attach the hitch support strap to the bike rack. Could you let me know what is the best way to secure this bike rack with the rack strap? Thank you for your help on this.

The Curt Trailer Hitch Support Strap, # 18050, is going to be necessary to use with your Curt # C11412 hitch receiver in order to maintain the hitch's warranty, so finding out how to use it is a smart idea.
The strap comes in two parts, one of which is going to have a cam buckle attached. Connect that strap to the upright post on your Swagman XC, # S64650 by making a loop. You will then take the strap with the hook and attach it above the trunk or hatch, depending on the vehicle you have. Take the rest of that strap and feed it through the cam buckle, pulling it tight.
I have attached a link to a video which will show you how to use the strap on a platform-style bike rack such as the Swagman you are considering.
