Comparison Of Thule Force XXL Rooftop Cargo Box And Yakima SkyBox 21 For Jeep Grand Cherokee

Were looking at getting a larger cargo box for our Jeep Grand Cherokee and are trying to decide between the Thule Force XXL Rooftop Cargo Box - 21 cu ft - AeroSkin Black Item # TH626 and the Yakima SkyBox 21 Rooftop Cargo Box - 21 cu ft - Black Carbonite Item # Y07337. Any specific reason to go one way or another?

The Thule Force XT XXL # TH6359B and the Yakima Skybox 21 # Y07337, are similar in many ways. Both have dual-side opening, and have similar cubic feet of storage, and both have a sleep design to reduce wind drag and noise. Both roof boxes also have locks to secure your cargo and also have undercut tails for easier rear cargo access.

The Yakima roof box weighs 62-lbs while the Thule box weighs 52-lbs. Both roof boxes have very good reviews but if I were to choose one over the other I would go with the Thule box because it is just a little more lightweight, and includes straps that help secure your cargo inside the box.
