Will Brake Mounting Flanges be Installed on New Axle

Question:

I have new 6000 lb axles coming for my 99 float-on trailer hauls 27foot world cat catamaran. Would like to put kodiac disc brakes on it. Do new axles come with correct mounts as a rule? Also do you think a new master cylinder is necessary? Dico model 10, original to the trailer.

Whether the axles have the brake mount flanges on them will depend on what you purchased. However, since they're 6,000 pound axles it's fairly likely the flanges will be there. If not, we carry # 4-44-1 for 6,000 pound axles. It will need to be welded to the axle at a trailer shop because it needs to be perfectly square and concentric.

As long as your current brake actuator is for disc brakes and functioning properly there's no need to replace it. However, if you previously had drum brakes it will need to be replaced. Disc brakes operate at a higher pressure than drum brakes. Our most popular actuator for disc brakes is the Titan # T4750620.

If you also need a brake line kit I've linked our selection that works with disc brakes for you.
