How To Install A 7-Way Wiring Harness On A 2015 Subaru XV Crosstrek

Im looking to install a trailer wiring harness on my 15 subaru crosstrek. I need it to be 7 pin for a camper. How can you guys help?

In order to install a 7-way wiring harness on your 2015 Subaru XV Crosstrek you will first need to install a 4-flat wiring harness. I recommend the Hopkins Plug-In Simple Vehicle Wiring Harness part # HM11143865 as it is a direct fit, plug-and-play option for you vehicle eliminating the need to hardwire.

To install the 7-way trailer wiring harness on your Subaru you will need to convert the prior 4-way into a 7-way. To do this you will want the Universal Installation Kit for Trailer Brake Controller part # ETBC7. The adapter will have to be hardwired into your vehicles existing wiring harness. Unfortunately there are no plug-in 7-way options for the Crosstrek.

If the trailer you will be hauling has breaks, then you will need a brake controller. I recommend the Tekonsha Prodigy P3 Trailer Brake Controller part # 90195 as this is one of our best selling, easiest to use options.
