Comparing Convert-A-Ball Step Gate and Westin Bed Ladder for a 2008 Ford F-150 with Tonneau Cover

Question:

Undecided between step gate and westin ladder. If step gate which model for a 2008 F150 SportCrew, short bed 4X4? Which looks to be a better fit? Have a stock Ford vinyl toneau cover. May be changing to a fiberglass cover.

Since you have a tonneau cover, the best option would be to go with the Westin Truck-Pal Fold-Up Bed Ladder, # 10-3000, as it does not have a bracket that needs to be mounted on the top of the tail gate, which the Convert-A-Ball Step Gate - Universal Truck Tailgate Step - 1 Step, # CAB-SG, does have. That bracket on the Covert-A-Ball could cause fit issues with the tonneau cover, so it would be best to avoid that possibility and go with the ladder.
