Will the Saris Freedom SuperClamp EX Be Able to Accommodate 4 Full Size Mountain Bikes
Question:
How well does this rack accommodate 4 full size mountain bikes? I love the fact that it is relatively compact, but, was wondering if there are any issues squeezing 4 mountain bikes into that space? In all the pictures, there is not one showing it with 4 mountain bikes.

The Saris Freedom SuperClamp EX # SA4026F is a great bike rack that can accommodate almost any bike since it is a wheel mount bike rack. As long as your bikes are within the specs for the SuperClamp then you will have no problem fitting 4 mountain bikes on it.
The weight capacity for the 2 inner positions is 60 lbs per bike and the weight capacity for the 2 outer positions is 35 lbs per bike. The max wheelbase that the SuperClamp will hold is 48 inches with a max tire width of 4-1/2 inches. If you have wider tires then you can use the fat tire adapter # SA4419.
The plastic wheel trays slide along the rack's horizontal arms and the hooks adjust separately from each other for different wheelbase sizes so you will have no issues with your handlebars from one bike hitting another bike.
I also recommend measuring from the center of your hitch pin hole to the outermost part (usually the bumper) of the vehicle that you will be using to carry the bikes to make sure that the SuperClamp will fit. When is is folded up the closest part of the rack to the center of the hitch pin hole is 5-1/4 inches. When it is folded down the closest wheel tray to the center of the hitch pin hole is 14 inches.
