Where in Tongue Weight Range of Equalizer Kit Do you Want Trailer Tongue Weight to Fall

Question:

Lets say youre pulling a trailer with gross trailer weight of 3500 lb. and a tongue weight of 350 lb. It looks like both of the equal-iz-er hitches EQ37040ET4k/400TW and EQ37060ET6k/600TW would be compatible. My question is, would the 6k/600TW hitch, adjusted properly, be identical to the 4k/400TW hitch also adjusted properly? This is assuming the 3500 lb. trailer is being pulled in both cases. If not, what would be the difference. Thanks,

There is a bit of overlap between weight distribution system which allows some flexibility, but ideally you run the system that has the range where your tongue weight falls the closest to the middle of. So you have a tongue weight of 350 lbs so the higher rated # EQ37060ET would be better as it's range is 200-600. Yours falls right in the middle which is the sweet spot.
