Trailer Wiring Recommendation For 2017 Jeep Grand Cherokee

Im not sure which of the connectors I am supposed to purchase for my new 2017 Jeep Grand Cherokee. It has the pigtail behind the rear bumper for the connector, but Im not sure which connector I need to purchase because I dont know if the pigtail means that I have factory tow package or not. There was nothing on my sticker window listing of standard and optional equipment that mentioned tow package. So I suppose I dont have the factory tow package, but I do have the pigtail behind the rear bumper for the purchased connector. Please advise. Thanks,

The Pollak 7-Way part # HM40975-11933 is a fit for your 2017 Jeep Grand Cherokee and would plug into a square connector at the rear of the vehicle. Most likely it's the connector you found already based on what you described. You might test the pins of the connector you found with a circuit tester like part # PTW2993. If they are active when vehicle taillight signals are on then this will work.

If instead you do not have the tow package wiring complete the T-one kit part # 118727 would be what you need. This wires to your vehicle by plugging in line with the taillight circuits.
