A Class III trailer hitch receiver is almost always a better option for vehicles that have the capacity for them. Your 2017 Honda CR-V has the option, so I recommend the Draw-Tite Max-Frame Trailer Hitch Receiver - Custom Fit - Class III - 2" # 76128. This is a sturdy round tube design with black powder coat over an e-coat base for excellent rust protection.

For your vehicle trailer wiring, I recommend the Tekonsha T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness with 4-Pole Flat Trailer Connector # 118741. This will plug into your factory wiring in the rear cargo area. It includes a ModuLite power converter so your vehicle wiring will match your trailer wiriing.

For a ball mount, I recommend the B&W Tow & Stow 2-Ball Mount - 2" Hitch - 5" Drop, 5-1/2" Rise - 7.5K - Black # BWTS10038B. This will give you an adjustable ball mount that has two hitch ball options to match your trailer coupler and allow you to tow level. It has a really nice stowable feature for when the ball is not in use to give a clean look and prevent you from hitting your shins when loading and unloading cargo.
