Recommended 5th Wheel Hitch For 2011 Ford F-350 With Standard Short Bed
Question:
Ive purchased a 2005 Sunny Brook 31BKFS actual length is 32 It came with a trailer pin extension which puts the pin centerline pretty much even with the front of the unit. Im looking at a 2011 F-350 with a regular bed, not a long bed. What hitch setup should I get?

If the 2011 Ford F-350 you are looking at has factory prep package, I recommend the Reese M5 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch for Ford Towing Prep Package - Single Jaw - 32,000 lbs # RP68FR. This mounts directly into your factory pucks and gives you enough towing capacity. If the truck does not have factory rails, I recommend the Under-Bed Rail and Installation Kit for Reese Elite Series 5th Wheel and Gooseneck Trailer Hitches # RP30126.
If you want above bed rails, I recommend the Reese Quick-Install Custom Base Rails and Installation Kit for 5th Wheel Trailer Hitches # RP50026-58. With industry standard rails, I recommend the Curt A25 # C16180. This hitch has a dual jaw system to hold the king pin tight to reduce jarring and chucking.
A 2011 Ford F-350 with regular bed will be a great vehicle that won't require a sliding hitch with your application. You may want to consider adding a 7-way connection to the bed of the truck for easier connection and accessibility with your 5th wheel trailer. For that, I recommend the Bargman 5th Wheel/Gooseneck 90-Degree Wiring Harness w/ 7-Pole Plug - GM, Ford, Ram, Toyota - 9' Long # 50-97-410.
