Is a Different Trailer Hitch Needed to Used Weight Distribution with a 2017 Chevy Suburban
Question:
Im looking to purchase a Curt WDH. My buddy just bought a equalizer but told me he had to purchase a different receiver because he has a Yukon and the hitch is located in the bumper as apposed to below the bumper. Will I need to order a special/longer receiver for my 2017 Suburban?

As long as the hitch on your 2017 Chevy Suburban is rated for use with weight distribution you will not need to replace the hitch to use a weight distribution system. I checked the owner's manual for the vehicle and weight distribution is permitted.
To choose a weight distribution system you will need to go by the total tongue weight of the set up. This is calculated by taking the tongue weight of the trailer, when loaded and ready to tow, and adding to that the weight of anything loaded behind the rear axle of the tow vehicle.
Curt TruTrack Weight Distribution System # C17500 is rated for 800 to 1,000 pounds tongue weight so if your trailer is within that range and the vehicle is rated for that much tongue weight then this Curt system will work for you.
The included shank has a maximum drop of 1/2 inch and max rise of 7-1/2 inches. Other shanks are available separately if more rise or drop is needed.
